Valparaíso and Viña del Mar: cultural heritage and urban nature

Valparaíso is a UNESCO World Heritage site with beautiful views on the Pacific Ocean. In the port city you can
explore street art, music, and the renown colorful buildings.

Viña del Mar is also known as “the garden city” and is characterized by a spectacular urbanization that integrates nature
for its climate regulation. You can discover parks and long shadowed streets that define the city center.


Supporting Institutions


At local level, the Congress is counting with the support of the four main universities of the Region of Valparaiso: Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Universidad de Valparaíso, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, and Universidad de Playa Ancha, which compose the Regional Council of Rectors.

The Congress will engage the different universities and activities will take place at different places depending on the day:
Day 1 – Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María
Day 2-3-4 – Universidad de Valparaíso and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso
Day 5- Universidad de Playa Ancha

Venues are within walking distance of one another.

Transportation

The Metropolitan train of Valparaíso is the most convenient way to connect Viña del Mar - where hotels are located - with the Universities' locations. Also, the Managing Director of Metro will provide Congress participants with a free Metrocard valid for the week of the conference. You will be provided with such card upon your registration at the hotel.
