The International Association for Landscape Ecology (IALE) is the global network for landscape ecologists. Its main goal is to foster worldwide collaboration among its chapters and policymakers, embracing a wide range of disciplines. Every four years, IALE hosts a World Congress to bring together working groups and advance global exchange on the latest developments in ecology and landscape studies
IALE 2027 is organized by the Chilean Chapter of IALE. The World Congress will take place in Valparaiso and Vina del Mar from 8 to 12 November and will feature the theme: Beyond the Wildland-Urban Interface: Critical Challenges for Natural and Human Landscapes in the Urban Age

Iale Chile
IALE Chile was founded in 2016 and counts today about 80 active members. Since its foundation, IALE Chile held chapter meetings every two years: Valparaíso (2017), Santiago (2019), Temuco (2021), and Concepción (2023). The meeting of 2023 brought together a very large number of participants from Chile and other neighbouring countries, establishing its stance in the region and beyond.
